First of all, we made it to Beijing safe and sound. The flight was long but uneventful so no complaints from us. Our sweet friends from our first adoption trip to China live in Chicago and work for United. They met us in the airport. They also worked tirelessly to make sure we had seats together on the flight from Chicago to Beijing. When we first checked in for that flight our seats were all over the plane. The seats they got for us were in Economy Plus which meant that we had about 5 extra inches of leg room! When we got on the plane the flight attendant delivered a fruit basket to us from our friends. For those of you who know my children, you know this brought smiles to their faces. The fruit was, of course, gone by the time we landed in Beijing 14 hours later. Thanks Noreen, Jim, Dave, and Mac! You guys rock! Let me also say that my little travelers were awesome! Not even one meltdown in our total 27 hours of travel from the time we left our house until we arrived at our hotel. When we arrived at our hotel, we walked to the mall that is connected to it to eat supper at KFC and get some bottled water for our room. Then we came back to our room and crashed. We all got a good night's rest and awoke around 5:00a.m. feeling good. On the agenda today is a full day of touring and then an acrobatic show tonight. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. They were definitely felt during our travel yesterday. This was probably our easiest trip to China yet even with two small children. More to come later tonight after our sightseeing adventures!
I want to know if Mac figured out how to fly the airplane? Glad you made is safely and looking forward to you getting back home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for making a post! We are all keeping up on this end as things unfold....only a few days until you are finally able to hold sweet Miles. We are praying!
